Cowdoku (com.xtdev.cowdoku) is a single-player logic puzzle game for iOS, published and operated by World Seed, LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Cowdoku app handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. It covers the Cowdoku app itself and the optional global Daily Leaderboard service that World Seed, LLC operates for the game.
In short: playing Cowdoku collects no personal data and does not track you. Information leaves your device only if you choose to submit a score to the optional online leaderboard, and even then we never receive your name, email, or Apple ID.
Information We Collect
Stored only on your device
To save your in-progress puzzle and your sound and haptics preferences, Cowdoku writes a small amount of data to local iOS storage (the system UserDefaults store, via Unity PlayerPrefs). This is the only required-reason API the app uses, declared under Apple reason code CA92.1 (accessing information from the app itself). This data stays on your device, is never transmitted to us, and is removed when you delete the app. Our Apple Privacy Manifest declares zero collected data types and no tracking.
Information you send when you submit a leaderboard score (optional)
Cowdoku includes an optional global daily-puzzle leaderboard. It is off by default, and base gameplay sends nothing to any server. Data is transmitted only if and when you choose to submit a daily score. When you submit, our server (operated by World Seed, LLC) receives and stores:
- an anonymous device/install identifier— not your name, email, or Apple ID;
- a display name you choose for the leaderboard;
- your completion time and scorefor that day's puzzle; and
- the puzzle date and a server-side timestamp.
We do not collect your email address, real name, contacts, location, photos, or device advertising identifier.
How We Use Information
We use the limited information described above only to:
- operate the game and save your progress and settings on your device;
- run, rank, and display the optional daily leaderboard;
- verify submissions and prevent cheating, tampering, and abuse; and
- comply with applicable law and enforce our terms.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any form of cross-app or cross-site tracking.
Apple Game Center & App Attest
To keep the leaderboard fair, submitting a score uses Apple Game Center for identity verification and Apple App Attestfor anti-cheat attestation. These mechanisms produce Apple-provided, app-scoped cryptographic identifiers that our server verifies before accepting a score. This process is governed additionally by Apple's privacy policy, available at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/. We do not receive your Apple ID or your Game Center real name through this process.
How Information Is Shared
World Seed, LLC does not sell or rent personal information, and does not share it for advertising. We share the limited leaderboard data only as needed to run the service:
- with infrastructure providers (for example, cloud hosting and database providers) that process data strictly on our behalf to operate the leaderboard; and
- with Apple, in connection with Game Center and App Attest as described above.
We may also disclose information if required to comply with applicable law, legal process, or a lawful government request, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of our service and users.
Advertising & Analytics
Cowdoku shows no ads and embeds no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. There are no trackers and no data brokers. We do not build advertising profiles or sell data to anyone.
Data Retention
Local data (your saved game and settings) lives on your device until you delete the app, at which point it is removed. Leaderboard entries are retained while the relevant board remains active and for as long as needed to operate the service. You may request deletion of your leaderboard data at any time using the contact details below.
Your Choices & Rights
- Send nothing.Simply do not submit scores — the leaderboard is optional and base gameplay transmits no data to our servers.
- Reset local data. Deleting the app removes your saved game and settings from your device.
- Access or delete leaderboard data. Email us and we will help you access or delete the leaderboard data associated with your submissions.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA (for example, rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights). We honor these rights where they apply; because we hold so little data, the simplest path is usually not to submit scores or to email us a deletion request.
Children's Privacy
Cowdoku is a general-audience game and is not directed to children under 13. World Seed, LLC does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
International Users
World Seed, LLC is based in the United States, and any leaderboard data you submit may be processed and stored in the United States. By submitting a score, you understand that your information may be processed in a country whose data-protection laws may differ from those of your own.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect the limited data we handle, including the Game Center and App Attest verification described above. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date shown at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will note them here. Your continued use of Cowdoku after an update means you accept the revised policy.
